After extensive beta testing, feedback, fixes, and improvements, SecLayer is now stable and ready to run on production servers.
SecLayer is currently compatible with Webuzo and cPanel, with additional control panel integrations coming soon.
A Better Way to Get Your Firewall Production Ready
One of the biggest additions in SecLayer 1.0.0 is the new Security Check wizard.
Getting a firewall configured correctly on a production server can involve a number of settings and security considerations. The new wizard guides administrators through recommended configuration checks and provides a practical checklist to help get SecLayer properly configured before putting it into production.
This makes it easier to identify important configuration steps and ensure the firewall is running with the recommended settings.
Migrate from CSF with a Single Command
SecLayer includes a single-command migration utility that makes it easy to migrate from CSF to SecLayer. The migration process transfers your existing data and firewall configuration, helping you move to SecLayer while preserving the settings you have already configured on your server.
With the migration handled automatically, administrators can transition from CSF to SecLayer with minimal manual configuration and get their new firewall up and running quickly.
One command. Your existing configuration. A simpler migration to SecLayer. Migration Guide.
What's New in SecLayer 1.0.0
1) New Security Check Wizard
The new Security Check wizard recommends important configuration and security checklist steps to help administrators prepare SecLayer for production environments.
2) Improved Suspicious Process Notifications
We identified cases where SecLayer could send multiple email notifications for standard system processes.
This has now been addressed. SecLayer intelligently handles standard processes and avoids sending unnecessary suspicious-process notifications, reducing alert noise for administrators.
3) New Firewall Configuration Settings
4) Fixed Authenticated Email Relay Hourly Limit Reset
This has now been fixed for:
RT_AUTHRELAY_LIMIT
RT_AUTHRELAY_BLOCK
The hourly limits now reset as expected.
5) Multiple Stability and Production Readiness Fixes
These changes focus on improving overall stability, reliability, and making SecLayer ready for production workloads.
Thank You to Our Beta Testers
Thank you to everyone who participated in the beta.
Your feedback helped us identify real-world issues and make SecLayer more reliable for production environments.
This is only the beginning, and we’re looking forward to continuing the stable journey with the SecLayer community.
What's Next?
We’re actively working towards bringing SecLayer to more control panels, making it easier for hosting providers and server administrators to deploy an additional layer of security across their infrastructure.
With 1.0.0, our focus is on building a solid and reliable foundation. Going forward, we’ll continue improving SecLayer with new security capabilities, better configuration options, broader compatibility, and continued stability improvements.
